PROJECTS

Municipal
In 2007 Jen Boudrie authored the 2006 Energy and Environmental Inventory for Marlborough, MA to document energy and water consumption, land use, waste management, and transportation; and to provide recommendations to the city of Marlborough.  That same year Marlborough joined the Cities for Climate Protection and created a Marlborough Energy and Environmental Taskforce (MEET).

She also put together the 2008 Sustainability Action Plan for Marlborough, MA to promote environmental sustainability in the community.  Action plan items include energy, water, land use/buildings, transportation and waste management for the residential, business and municipal sectors.  Her work educates the community about environmental sustainability and saves the city thousands of dollars each year.  -Priscilla Ryder, Conservation Officer, Marlborough, MA

Non-Profit
Alternatives is a nationally-recognized community-based human services provider for people with disabilities in central Massachusetts.  Alternatives renovated its beautiful headquarters, a historical Blackstone Valley mill complex, according to LEED gold standards and installed photovoltaic, geothermal, and hydro power.

In 2007 at a company-wide meeting they launched a "going green" effort for staff.  Jen Boudrie created a multi-media presentation titled "The Earth Thanks You" to inspire and educate employees and then met with the green team to support their economic and environmental sustainability goals.

Alternatives is proud to make this contribution to local and global sustainability efforts through community-based efforts.  - Dennis Rice, CEO, Alternatives, Whitinsville, MA

Business
In 2008 Jen directed the Sustainable Business Leader Program funded by a DEP grant which was financially administered by the City of Boston to provide technical assistance to small and mid-sized businesses in Boston.

Twenty-eight businesses were enrolled and guided through the process of assessing their environmental sustainability, creating an action plan and finding resources to implement the action items.  In addition, a website, newsletter, workshops and resources were provided to foster community and support goals in environmental sustainability.  This program was then given to a local coordinator who received on-the-job training for four months.

Jen continues to support businesses and organizations seeking program design and development by coaching their staff to reach goals that include social responsibility, and economic and environmental sustainability.
